One always has to go somewhere.
\n<\/span><\/em>Overcoming it. Ugh.
\n<\/span>The first milestone: that thick winter coat (clumsy).
\n<\/span>Wind.
\n<\/span>Crunching snow.
\n<\/span>Hand on the ice: not too thick. Good. (It\u2019ll probably get worse.)
\n<\/span>A second spark of relief: no frozen doors. (It\u2019ll probably get worse.)
\n<\/span>The double d\u00e9j\u00e0 vu: that feeling of needing the ice scraper again after months, touching it, remembering how it feels in my hand (And: the memory of last year. When I almost used a very similar photo for this blog.)<\/span><\/p>\n

The ice: like butter. Good. (It\u2019s okay if it gets worse.)
\n<\/span>Everything’s smooth.
\n<\/span>Using one hand is enough.
\n<\/span>No further pressure needs to be applied.
\n<\/span>Stripe by stripe, fine and precise (what\u2019s the name of that special rake in Zen gardens?).<\/span><\/p>\n

A warm-up exercise for the things yet to come.
\n<\/span>Ice crystals.
\n<\/span>But slowly the light comes through.<\/span><\/p>\n

How much I actually like my old, humble buddy (my car).
\n<\/span>I\u2019m so much looking forward to be on your side for yet another year.
\n<\/span>And again: a post that feels unexpectedly meta.<\/span><\/p>\n
